[news] Anchorage-Secretary of the Interior Thomas Kleppe and Patrick Hayes, Alaska Native Enrollment Coordinator, Met in Anchorage Recently to Review the Computerized Family Trees Developed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs to Help Determine an Individual's Eligibility for Benefits under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act. Only Those Whose Family Trees Prove That They Are at Least One-Quarter Alaska Indian, Eskimo or Aleut and a U.S. Citizen Who Was Living on December 18, 1971 Can Share in These Benefits. Enrollment Applications, Which Can be Requested from Pouch 7-1971, Anchorage, Alaska 99510, Include Spaces for Family Tree Information Which is Fed into the Computers and Sorted for Analysis. Applications with All of This Information Must be Submitted by January 2, 1977.
