[news] Workshops Focus on Rural Museums, Heritage Centers
[news] Kiana Gardens - Henry Jackson of Kiana Operates a Rototiller While Village Children Watch in a Garden Ata the Kobuk River Community. Native Villagers Planted some 20 Gardens This Summer. Small Agricultural Plots Were Developed with Assistance from Tahe Muktuk Marston Foundation and with Supplies Largely Provided by Brigham Young University Indian Services. Vegetables Planted by the Villagers Include Corn, Beans, Turnips, Peas, Onions, Carrot, Spinach Lettuce and some 20 other Varieties. Even Tomatoes Are Planted. Kiana Natives Also Received Assistance from the Alaska Agricultural Experimental Station at Palmer.
