Sponsored by the Consortium for Pacific Arts and Cultures, and the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the Visual Arts Center of Alaska, the Symposium Featured Demonstrations of Basketry and Discussion of the Change in Woven Containers from Practical Use Such as Food Storage and Gathering to Become Art Objects. Rita Blumenstein, Above, Demonstrates Her Craft. Intricate Trumsley Weaving is Demonstrated in the Lower Left Picture and a Display of Basketry is Shown Above Right.
