[news] Tallest Authentic Totem-The Alaska Federation on Natives in the Preamble of Its Constitution Vows to Perpetuate the Cultures of Alaska's Native People. The AFN's Concern for Objects of Culture Encompass Such Things as Tahe Village Kake's World's Tallest Authentic Totem Pole Carved by Tlingit Indians. The Kake Totem is Now Gracing the Grounds of Alaska's Exhibit at the Expo 70 in Osaka, Japan. The Totem's 132 Foot Height Was Shortened by 13 Feet When a Wind Storm at Osaka Blew it off Not Long Ago. After the Exposition, the Kake Totem Will be Shipped Back to Kake and Set up as a Momento of the Village's Culture and Heritage.
