[news] Birthday Party for Mike. An Elegant Crowd of About 200 Gathered at the Gold Room of the Traveler's Inn in Fairbanks Last Saturday to Celebrate Senator Mike Gravel's Birthday. It Turned out to be a Gala Affair with Much Laughter Generated by the Moster of Wit Jud Strunk of the "Laugh in" Show and of Eustis, Maine. His Homespun Type of Humor Repeatly Struck the Funnybone of the Happy Audience. Strunk Also Received a Large Applause When He Sing His Current Smash Hit, "A Daisy a Day." Part of the Time, Strunk Was Accompanied by the Wendy Williamson's Band from Anchorage. The Audience Did a Lot of Dancing. Anchorage Madicin Singers Also Entertained the Gals Crowd with Fine Conditions. The Buffet Dinner Selected Bake Chicken, Baked Sheefish, Baked Salmon, King Crab Meats. Champaigne Fountain Flowed through the Evening. Shown in the Picture Are Left to Right: State Rep. Larry Peterson of Ft. Yukon, Rita Gravel, Wife of Mike Gravel, Tim and Mary Wallis and Senator Gravel. Tim Wallis is the President of the DNH Corporation of the Tanana Chiefs Conference.
