[news] This Drill is the First of 38 to Bore Holes That Will Receive 18-Inch Vertical Support Members (VSM). Some 80,000 VSM's Will Support 382 Miles of Elevated Pipe Along the Trans Alaska Pipeline Route. The Drilling Above is Being Conducted at a 150-Foot Section of the Pipeline near Fairbanks. Final Winter Testing Will be Conducted at the Site in Preparation for Actual Pipe Emplacement next Spring. Alyeska Pipeline Service Company is the Firm Responsible for the Design, Construction and Operation of Trans Alaska Pipeline.
