[news] Black Asks End to Wien Strike - Cliff Black, Executive Vice President of the Alaska Federation of Natives, Testified before a Presidential Fact Finding Committee in Washington Last Month, and in Seattle Last Week. Black Presented Resolutions Adopted by Several Native Regions Affected by the Strike as Well as Delegates to the AFN Convention Held in Late October. the Resolutions Are Largely Directed at Wien Air Alaska and Ask the Carrier, Which Holds a Monopoly Ib Air Service to Much of Western and Northern Alaska, to Resume Negotiations in Good Faith with Members of the Air Line Pilots Association. in This Photo, Black is Discussing His Testimony with Hilel Weinberg, Aide to U.S. Representative Don Young. Young Introduced the Amendment Which Proved for the Presidential Investigation of Athe Wien Strike. The Congressman Said He Introduced the Amendment after Receiving Requests from Thousands of Alaskans for Congressional or Presidential Action Aimed at Ending the Strike. The Panel Investigating the Strike Concluded Hearings on Friday in Seattle. The Three-Member Panel is to Report Its Findings to President Carter on January 15.
