[news] Helping to Promote Traditional Values and the Sacredness of the Drum, Tlingit and Haida Elder Walter Austin Spoke at the University of Alaska Anchorage's Campus Center Earlier This Month. Austin Encouraged Alaska Natives to Maintain Their Heritage, Languages and Traditional Ways. He Also Spoke of Tlingit and Haida Prophecies That Natives Will Lead the World in Bringing it Back to Order and Promoting Spirituality. Austin, a Volunteer for the Women's Resource Center and the Southcentral Foundation, is a Traditional and Trained Counselor in Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation.
