Paul Ortega-In Fairbanks This Week to Visit and Evaluate the Work of the Fairbanks Native Center for the Central Project Staff of the Indian Center Development Services, Inc.-Sang Indian Songs and Accompanied Himself on the Guitar Last Night at a Special Benfit Concert at Wood Center. Funds from the Concert Will be Used by the Native Center for Programs Involving Young People. Ortega Began Giving These Concerts, He Told the Tundra Times, because He "Felt Long Ago That Too Many People Were Making Fun of Indian Songs." He Collected " the Best Songs from All Areas" of the Country, Worked out the Guitar Accompaniments, and Has Come up with a Program Which Gives Him a Opportunity to Present Ideas on Indian Philosophy and Religion. and, "because Everybody Kept Asking," He Made a Recording on His Collection of Songs, the Record, "Two Worlds," May be Purchased at the Fairbanks Native Center for $5.50.
