[news lead] Priest Ordained at Fort Yukon-On July 26, The Reverend Titus Peter of Arctic Village Was Ordained Priest by the Right Reverend William J. Gordon Jr., Bishop of Alaska in St. Stephen Church, Fort Yukon. Father Peter is the Third Athabascan Indian Ever Ordained Priest in Alaska. The First, Rov. David Salmon of Venetie, Became a Priest in a Historic Service at Fort Yukon in October, 1962. The Second Was the Rev. Isaac Tritt, Ordained in June, 1964, and Now Priest-in-Charge of the St. Timothy's Church in Chalkyitsik. Fr. Peter Will Continue as Priest-In-Charge of the Episcopal Church at Arctic Village. One of His First Acts as a Priest of the Church Was to Celebrate the Holy Communion in St. James' Church, KTanana, on August 1. From Left to Right: Rev.
